Eye Opener: Environmental Working Group

Hi everyone,

After looking at what my make-up really does to me, I was shocked. I always kind of thought that what I was putting on wasn't good but I really never thought that it would be that bad. I use make-up from Victoria's Secret mostly, however I the website didn't have anything from there. I basically just looked at products I've used in the past and figured that it was either just as bad or probably worse. Most of what I've used was a 5. Although it sounded like it was just a mediocre score, what it meant to me was simply cancer. Since this, Im definitely looking into safer products!

  1. I never thought make-up was that bad before either. I have, however, heard that it collects bacteria VERY fast, and you shouldn't share it with anyone... but I don't see how that could contribute to cancer?

  2. Cancer seems to be pretty common from the results of makeup. Its too bad victoria secret wasn't available here cause i would think that would be a more common product for consumers and good information to have.

  3. I am also surprised that cancer has been listed on numerous occaisons for people's makeup. Although, it makes me question if it is really true, or they just assuming that if one causes it, they all do? But needless to say, I still think it is awful that these products are for sale since we obviously have the knowledge that something is not right.

  4. Our class should take a field trip to find makeup or skincare alternatives! It's not good that stuff we use every day on our faces, etc. is linked to cancers.

  5. Everything is going to give us cancer.... its very alarming but there must be something out there that won't give us cancer. I want to start looking for some more natural products.
